Proposed research programme. The goals, methods and outputs below are planning proposals, not confirmed deployments, funded commitments or guaranteed results. Site selection, permits, environmental review and engineering validation remain prerequisites.

Work undertaken · evidence status

CAII progress not verified

No verifiable CAII project reports, test records or deployment evidence have been supplied for this direction. Undertaken work cannot yet be confirmed. This does not establish that no work has occurred. External sources below document third-party methods or trials, not CAII achievements.

Research goals

  1. 01

Evaluate sealed subsea compute capsules as an alternative to land-constrained infrastructure.

  2. 02

Investigate cooling efficiency, serviceability, data protection and exposure to marine and storm hazards.

Technical pathway

  1. 01

Architecture — model pressure-rated enclosures, corrosion protection, heat transfer, subsea power and redundant fibre links.

  2. 02

Operations — fuse temperature, pressure and leak sensors for anomaly detection; design secure remote management, isolation and recovery procedures.

  3. 03

Validation — perform pressure, thermal and leak tests, model seabed heat effects and compare lifecycle costs and energy use with a land-based baseline.

Expected outputs

Proposed deliverables · not completed results

  1. 01

A capsule reference architecture and quantified thermal, reliability and environmental assessment.

  2. 02

A monitoring prototype, retrieval and maintenance plan, and feasibility report; no cooling or availability improvement is guaranteed.
